Outbound Lead Generation

Create more of the sales conversations your team needs.

Inbound and search only reach buyers who come looking for you.

Outbound gives you another way to create opportunities by systematically identifying, reaching and engaging companies that fit your market.

We build and manage B2B outbound programmes around the sales contribution required, then measure and improve performance as real data comes back.

THE PROBLEM

Outbound activity is easier to generate. Useful pipeline isn't.

Modern technology can find prospects, enrich data, research accounts, personalise messages and run outreach at a scale that previously required much more manual work.

That's useful. We use it.

But more activity doesn't necessarily create more sales opportunities.

A company can fit your ICP and still have no reason to buy. A response can be positive without becoming a useful conversation. A meeting can be booked and still be rejected by Sales.

And impressive numbers for emails sent, opens, clicks or connections mean very little if the programme isn't producing enough relevant conversations for the sales team to work.

A list of prospects isn't a lead-generation strategy.

Outbound needs to work as a measurable part of the sales system.

HOW WE HELP

Build outbound backwards from the sales requirement.

Work out what outbound needs to contribute

We start with the commercial objective, sales process and deal economics.

How many deals does the business need? What does the sales funnel look like? How much of that requirement is outbound expected to support?

Where historical data exists, we use it. Where it doesn't, we establish working assumptions, test them and replace them with observed performance as the programme develops.

Build the reachable market

We define the ICP, target accounts, segments, buying roles and realistic prospect universe.

Then we look at whether that market is large and reachable enough to support the level of outbound activity required.

Where useful signals or triggers are available, they can also help us prioritise which accounts deserve attention now.

Build and run the programme

We develop the data, proposition, offers, messaging, channels, sequences, supporting content, technology and response process needed to operate the programme.

AI and automation can make research, enrichment, prioritisation and execution considerably more efficient.

The technology is there to help us run the programme better, not to become the programme.

Measure the funnel

We move measurement as close to commercial outcomes as the available data allows.

That might mean tracking:

Accounts targeted → Contacts reached → Responses → Positive responses → Conversations → Meetings → Sales-accepted opportunities → Pipeline

Not every business will have every stage available.

What matters is understanding what happens after the activity.

Improve the numbers

If activity is high but response is weak, we investigate.

If meetings are being generated but Sales rejects them, we investigate.

If qualified opportunities are being created but nothing progresses, the problem may sit elsewhere in the offer or sales process.

The objective is to understand where the funnel is breaking and improve the parts we can influence.

Plan it. Run it. Measure it. Improve it.

OUR POINT OF VIEW

Personalisation isn't the same as relevance.

Technology can increasingly research a person's company, role, activity and interests, then use those details to generate a personalised message.

That can still result in irrelevant outreach. The more useful questions are:

Why this company?
Why this person?
Why this conversation?
Why now?

Sometimes there is a relevant business trigger. Sometimes a particular segment shares a problem your offer addresses. Sometimes research, an event, an idea, useful content or a strong offer creates a credible reason to make contact. And sometimes there simply isn't enough of a reason yet.

The objective isn't to make cold outreach look warmer. It's to make the outreach worth receiving.

IS THIS RIGHT FOR YOU?

Outbound Lead Generation tends to make sense when...

BEFORE YOU CONTACT US

Common questions.

How many meetings can you generate?

We won't invent a number before understanding your market.

We first look at the sales requirement, addressable prospect universe, available channels, historical performance and what assumptions need to be tested.

Once the programme is running, we use actual performance to build a more useful view of what the programme can realistically produce.

That should be agreed before launch.

The definition might include company fit, role, relevant need, interest or other criteria appropriate to your sales process.

The important thing is that Marketing, Bold Ink and Sales are working from the same definition rather than counting every booked calendar slot as success.

We work backwards from the commercial requirement and build a working funnel using available client data and clearly identified assumptions.

We then track actual performance through the programme and replace assumptions with observed results wherever possible.

We don't use generic industry benchmarks as if they were guaranteed outcomes for your business.

Sales needs to follow up on relevant responses and meetings, progress opportunities and provide feedback on what happens downstream.

Before launch, we agree who owns the response, what context they receive, how quickly follow-up should happen and what information comes back into the programme.

Generating interest without a workable follow-up process wastes the opportunity.

The stack depends on the programme.

That may include prospecting and enrichment platforms, email infrastructure, LinkedIn, CRM, automation, research and AI tools.

We choose technology around what the programme needs to accomplish rather than making a particular platform the service.
